Feline Behavior

TTouch for cats

Feline Behavior Feline Meridian System (available in 2008)

What is a normal behavior?

This is a very difficult question to answer. Some cat breeds already have established behaviors. A male and a female cat don’t behave the same way.

Genetic and behavioral evolution are not the only factors which influence behavior.
Environment may also affect greatly feline behavior.

Cats have always been considered solitary creatures and numerous «undesirable» behaviors are considered as «abnormal» behaviors. However, what is normal for humans is not necessarily normal for the cat!

Here are the most influential factors for the behavior of a feline:

Hereditary
Poor nutrition
Past experiences
Physiognomy
Health problems
Environment

To correct a behavior problem, we need:

To understand better what is considered a normal behavior in cats
Determine what is causing the behavior which is considered «abnormal»
Is this behavior normal for this breed?
This behavior may be considered as normal but the owner does not want it
Find different situations that will allow the cat and its owners to live in harmony

Consultations

I use two methods to correct feline behavior problems: TTouch and a program of behavior modification to be integrated in the cat’s environment, and this, by using positive reinforcement.

The consultations are available by telephone or at your home.

Send your questions by e-mail to this address:
info@communicationfeline.com

 Include also:
Your name
Phone number
Your cat’s name and age
Brief description of the problem

Often a phone conversation of 30 to 60 minutes will suffice.
However, in some cases, a home visit will be necessary, especially in aggression cases, in an environment where many animals live, cats that have elimination problems.
